Rumours of a separation, and then a divorce, were reported between the pair by several publications since 2017 but nothing was confirmed.
Recently, however, when Zizo Beda started trending on Twitter for her preaching, Mayihlome stepped in to defend her.
A video of Zizo preaching the word of God who met with criticism and trolling on Twitter, with many claiming that she is high or going through a very tough time to be talking like that. This is when Mayihlome tweeted in her defense, making it clear that Zizo has had the gift of preaching for years.
"She has always had the gift....she just expressed it differently ...not sure about the mockery coming from some of you who failed school orals titled " What Did You Do Over The Long Weekend" he wrote in a Tweet.
Naturally, he was applauded for this act because a man who defends his "wife" is honourable. However, Mayihlome poured cold water on claims that Zizo is his wife. He replied to a few tweets, explaining that he defended her because she is the mother of his son but he is not married.
"I'm not married but she is the mother of my boy and is far better person than some of these degenerates out here," he replied.
Zizo and Mayihlome got hitched on December 11, 2015 at the Gonubie Manor venue in East London and have a son together named Vukile Tshwete who was born in 2016.
In 2018, it was reported that Mayihlome moved out of their matrimonial home, and according to recent reports that is still the case. The source related to the couple alleges that Zizo broke the news to her family that she wants to divorce Mayihlome after trying to make things work for their child.
“They tried to fix things because they wanted to raise their son together. This year, Zizo informed her family that she was done with the marriage and intends to file for divorce. When we asked her why, she just said she lost interest in the marriage and believes Mayihlome too has lost interest,” the source sang like a canary to Sunday World.
The relative added that there is no bad blood between the estranged couple and that they still love each other, “Though it was painful for them, they felt it was the correct decision to take. They came to accept that while they loved each other, they can’t continue as husband and wife. There are many people who love each other, but they are not together, because love alone is not enough.”
