Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo’s age and childhood
Thembisa Mdoda was born on the 16th of November 1982, in Mthatha, Eastern Cape. She is two years older than Anele Mdoda who was born in 1984 and is one of five siblings including Unathi, Zamalisa and her younger brother.
The sisters lost their mother- Yolisa Mdoda to pancreatic cancer more than ten years ago. She was a publicist at Transnet and an SABC1 continuity presenter.
Their father, Patillizwe ‘Pat’ Mdoda is a businessman and a philanthropist. Both Anele and Thembisa Mdoda adore their father and support his philanthropic cause. When he recently built a school in a village in Eastern Cape, the two sisters showed their full support for him.

Thembisa Mdoda-Nxumalo’s career
Like her sister Anele Mdoda, Thembisa has established herself as a powerhouse, especially in the world of television.
Thembisa began her career as a radio newsreader for Wits. She later left to host Highveld After Dark, which airs weekdays from 0100hr to 0400hr on 94.7 Highveld Stereo.
In November 2015, she was cast as the host of Season 6 of Our Perfect Wedding. She also landed a role on Mzansi Magic’s The Road in the same year.
She left Our Perfect Wedding in 2017 after two seasons and is regarded as one of the best hosts of the show to date. Later that year, she was a contestant in Dancing with the Stars SA.
Early in February 2018, Thembisa was cast as the host of the television game show Your Next Million. In the same year, she also landed a role on Metro FM as a host for the morning breakfast show with MoG for a year.
2022 was a great year for Thembisa Mdoda. In February 2022, she was cast in House of Zwide. In June the same year, she landed two more roles as the host for the Showmax reality show- Umndende and Suxoka.

Who is Thembisa Mdoda’s husband?
Thembisa Mdoda is married to a mysterious man only identified as Mr Nxumalo. Although she has adopted her husband’s surname and even on several occasions showered her mysterious Zulu man with love on social media, Thembisa has been careful not to reveal his identity to the world.
Before her current marriage, Thembisa Mdoda was previously married to popular actor- Atandwa Kani. They were in an on-off relationship for many years starting in 2004 and finally got married in 2012.
The ex-couple welcomed their twin boys in 2012 shortly after getting hitched. Sadly, their marriage was full of problems and in 2015, they decided to get divorced.
