The presenter's mother Yolisa Mdoda died more than a decade ago due to pancreatic cancer.

Together with her sister Thembisa, they've always commemorated her death publicly and encouraged people to cherish their mothers.

As for her dad, Anele went all out on him during his 65th birthday which also happened to be the same day her son Alakhe celebrates his. He gifted him a painting of himself and his grandchild.

Whilst there, Anele met Grant Nash with whom she formed one of the best duos on regional radio. Shortly after, Highveld 947 came calling and both made the switch.

Anele then left for 5FM where she did the midday show, Grant & Anele from 12-3 pm. After four years at 5FM (2008 to 2012), Anele returned to Highveld 947 where she now hosts the Breakfast Club every day Monday to Friday between 6 am to 9 am alongside Thembekile, Frankie, Alex and Cindy.

Anele Mdoda has also cut her teeth on television. She’s presented big shows like Mzansi Magic’s Clash of The Choirs, Strictly Come Dancing and SA’s Got Talent

Anele is also renowned for the talk show Real Talk with Anele which airs on SABC 3. The show focuses on social issues with interviews with some of the biggest personalities in the country like Khanyi Mbau, Julius Malema, Dineo Ranaka and Somizi.
