Mzansi is currently suffering from major FOMO after Somizi and Mohale hosted what is undoubtedly the 'Wedding of the decade'! Pictures having been making the rounds on social media and on Friday we got our first look at their upcoming wedding special which is coming straight to Showmax!
Last year, we all witnessed Somizi and Mohale's traditional wedding through fans and guests' posts on social media. On Thursday their much anticipated white wedding took place in Johannesburg and fans were thrilled for the lovers.
Last year, we all witnessed Somizi and Mohale's traditional wedding through fans and guests' posts on social media. On Thursday their much anticipated white wedding took place in Johannesburg and fans were thrilled for the lovers.
From the onset, guests were sharing snaps of their outfits and we were pleased to see that many of them stuck to the theme although it must be noted that one Cassper Nyovest not only arrived late, but arrived wearing the wrong attire altogether! Jokes aside, it was an incredible day all round.
But there was one problem for us, the fans at home. We had no access to many of the day's key moments, in fact many of us haven't even seen what Somizi and Mohale were wearing (there was a "no phones" rule at their ceremony!)
Trust the Mohale-Motaungs to not let their fans down, however. The lovers gave their fans the best possible way to keep up with their love story when it was announced on Thursday that their wedding will be premiering exclusively on Showmax. This makes them the first celebrity couple to have their four-part wedding special to air exclusively on Showmax and the first gay celebrity couple to have a wedding special in South Africa
Somizi & Mohale: The Union will allow fans to get a closer-than-ever look into couple's most precious moments including how they merged their two families in the most lavish way possible. Showmax has confirmed that the first episode of The Union will premiere on 24 February 2020 - which feels like a very long time for many of their most loyal fans!
Clearly realising that we (the fans!) needed something to keep us steady until the big day, the Showmax team has decided to raise anticipation for the historic wedding special by releasing a trailer which includes scenes from the traditional wedding. In the trailer, the couple can be heard exchanging a few words to one another.
Who else wanted to cry when they heard Mohale say, "Dear Somizi, the basis of my reason for loving you was because I was always attracted to selfless people who are themselves and never care about anyone else."
Somizi, also shared some loving words to his now official husband; "Dear Mohale, I never chose to love you. I never planned to love you. I found myself feeling it and then I fell deep in it."
