R&B star Tamia marked Women’s Day in South Africa with a message of gratitude to the fans who have continued to welcome her warmly during her latest visit.
Tamia celebrates South African fans
Sharing the moment on Instagram, the Grammy-nominated singer thanked Mzansi for making her feel at home in the country she has visited several times throughout her career.
In videos from her performance, Tamia appeared in a leopard-patterned jacket layered over tulle as she delivered her songs onstage, with enormous South African flags providing the backdrop.
She paired footage of the high-energy show with a personal note about the meaning of her South African supporters’ loyalty.
“I’m deeply thankful to be sharing this important day with you,” she wrote, before honouring women whose courage, resilience and strength continue to motivate future generations. She closed the message by wishing her followers a happy Women’s Day.
One fan, reacting to Tamia’s appearance at GrandWest in Cape Town, described her as an all-time favourite performer and said her voice remained unmatched, adding a heart emoji and tagging Tamia Hill.
Three-city Women’s Month tour
The Instagram post arrived while Tamia was leading The Biggest Women’s Month Celebration Tour Experience, a three-stop South African concert series scheduled around the Women’s Day long weekend.
- The opening concert took place on 6 August at the Grand Arena in Cape Town.
- Tamia then performed at the Durban ICC on 7 August.
- The tour is due to conclude on 10 August at SunBet Arena, located at Times Square in Pretoria.
A long-standing connection with local audiences
Tamia’s latest performances are part of a relationship with South African concertgoers that stretches back years. This is not her first national tour, as she has returned to perform for audiences in the country multiple times during the past decade.
Those visits have helped establish her as one of the most cherished R&B performers among local fans. Her setlist is associated with songs such as Still, So Into You, Stranger in My House, Officially Missing You, You Put a Move on My Heart and More.
The six-time Grammy nominee is also known for commanding vocals and an approachable stage presence that allows her to connect easily with the crowd.
