Abdul Khoza saw himself getting the recognition and the flowers he deserves with his outstanding performance on the Showmax original series, The Wife. Abdul plays the troublesome brother Nqoba Zulu and boy oh boy, is he doing a stellar job.

The Wife cast not only broke records but they also dominated the nominations list at this year's award ceremony. Kwenzokuhle Ngcobo who plays the hotheaded Zulu brother Qhawe, scored himself the Favourite Rising Star award nomination and Zikhona Sodlaka who plays Nqoba's wife Mandisa on the show got nominated under the Best Female Actor.

Reacting to his nomination, Abdul Khoza sent a special shoutout to the entire cast and the writer Dudu Busani Dube. He said getting nominated in itself is a big reward for him and he is grateful.

"I am very thankful for this humbling honor of being nominated for the 1st time in my career by @dstv_mvca_official for BEST ACTOR. I honestly am so grateful for this nomination alone as it means my work is being recognized & that l have won a few hearts within my industry & that for me is my BEST AWARD."

Celebrating Dudu for being an exceptional writer, Abdul said, "Thank you so much Mama Bear @dudubusanidube for your amazing work that gave birth to these amazing characters we play on screen. Your talent is extraordinary & out of this world, we love you."

Not forgetting the stars of the show nominated along with him, Abdul said they all deserve their nominations.

Executive Head of Marketing for MultiChoice South Africa, had this to say about the return of DMVCA after a two-year break.

“The return of The DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards is something that really excites us as DStv, not only are the awards a celebration of our extraordinary local talent but they also put the fans who are our consumers, at center of everything as they are the ones who will have voted for the different winners.”

The award show is slated to take place on June 25 at Sun Arena in the Capital city of Mzansi, Pretoria. Viewers at home, can watch the live broadcast on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) in June which will be hosted by Big Brother Mzansi host and The River’s Lawrence Maleka.

When he was shot earlier on in season 2, Abdul teased fans that Nqoba would be killed off the show. "It's been an amazing journey with you all on #TheWifeShowmax. Thank you to the entire cast and crew for embracing me to the fullest. I shall miss you all and wish you a greater journey ahead. You have inspired my career with this amazing show, ngiyabonga mina (thank you) uNqobizitha Zulu lo, sengihembe. Heee heee!!." he announced.

But he certainly was joking and said that his rivals the Majola brothers were the ones who ran to the media and spewed lies.

"Ngithi asibonge isupport yenu (let me just thank you guys for your support) on this S2 of #TheWifeShowmax we are honored to be part of this amazing journey with you. AS FOR ME DYING, HEEE HEEE!! UNGAFA, oMajola nezibamu zabo zezi nyoni.
