AKA has had a very good year despite the many opportunities 2020 has taken away from entertainers. His career milestones have reached a high and the latest achievement is a testament of that. His online show 'The Braai Show' has been picked up by SABC 1 and the very first episode roped in an impressive 2.8 million viewers.

Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela released these figures adding that the first episode of The Braai Show with AKA is the 13th most watched television program on SABC 1, and also the 18th most watched program in the country. He claims that if the show continues on this path and possibly grow their numbers, this would make the Bhovamania rapper the second highest rated talk show host in the country.
"If the numbers hold, this will make AKA the second highest rated talk show host in South Africa. If the show retains the 2.8 million viewers, or pull higher, it will likely fall behind Nyan Nyan in terms of the most watched talk show in South Africa," wrote Phil.
The Braai Show is a casual-style, light hearted talk show where AKA invites prominent people, from A-Lister to politicians and socialites, and breaks bread with them whilst enjoying drinks. It first launched on his online app AKA TV which subscribers enjoyed all 13-episodes in June.
In an official statement from SABC 1 on Thursday, 5 November 2020, Zandile Nkonyeni, SABC Head of PR stated, “As a big supporter of local hip hop culture, SABC 1 is excited to welcome Summer 2020 in style with one of Mzansi’s most favourite and talked-about rapper, AKA. It's important for the channel to further its commitment to bring our audiences must-watch local content that is relevant, fun and entertaining and in this case, to get the opportunity to go beyond the music and explore the artist's other talents. AKA and his guests promise to keep it fun and interesting for our viewers."
AKA is on a winning streak, as he recently launched his latest flavour with Cruz Vodka Banana Deluxe. The flavour did not sit well with fans and critics, but he shut them down by saying people said the same things with his Cruz Watermelon flavour, but it is now one of the best selling beverages.
"When Watermelon dropped they made memes ... they said, why Watermelon? Eeeuw. Disgusting."
The Braai Show With AKA airs on SABC 1 Thursdays, at 19h30.
