Podcast and Chill might not be popular among female ZAlebs in the country due to what they have labelled as the misogynistic undertones of interviewers Sol Phenduka and MacGyver “MacG” Mukwevho. However, given that the platform is considered the best local YouTube-based podcast in the country.

More so as the channel is steadily on its way to achieving its one million subscribers mark ahead of the initially postponed one million subscribers Fill-Up event. The impact of the platform is one that many ZAlebs and political figures cannot deny. As such, an invite to the podcast for anyone outside of predominantly female ZAlebs is a hot ticket to get.
As such, it came as no surprise that the fairly unknown and underdog political party, African Transformation Party (ATM), is looking to get on the platform to share its political pillars.
AMT’s President reaches out to MacG for interview
In Monday, 24 April 2023’s episode of Podcast and Chill, Sol, MacG and Ghost Lady shared their thoughts on President Cyril Ramaphosa signing in the Electoral Amendment Bill, which now allows for independent candidates to run for president without the backing of a political party.
Speaking on the fact, the trio discussed who they would vote for with a strong emphasis on focussing on young presidential hopefuls. As such, MacG spoke on the ATM and its president Vuyo Zungula having ideas which he was open to hear more about. However, MacG being MacG, got his name wrong, which did not come as a surprise for the Chillers.
Moreover, it seems that ATM and Zungla did not mind the mispronunciation. This is as days later, they took to Twitter to correct MacG on how to pronounce their president’s name and confirm that they would be open to doing the interview.
Dear @MacGUnleashed & @podcastwithmacg, it’s ZU-NGU-LA (Zoo-Ngoo-Lah), and Pres @ZungulaVuyo is available for a chill session.

This is not a surprise considering just how many political party and organisation leaders have gone on Podcast and Chill and used the platform to advance their ideals.
Political figures that have gone on MacG and propelled their own ambitions via the podcast include the likes of:
Before formalising his political organisation to a fully-fledged political party, Mmusi Maimane had gone on Podcast and Chill and was part of the voices which spearheaded the call to have President Ramaphosa amend the Electoral Bill in order to allow for independent candidates to run.
Before Podcast and Chill, Nhlanhla Lux sounded like the voice of the youth and the general public who were against the current immigration laws, or the lack thereof, depending on who you are asking. As such, his time on Podcast and Chill had turned him into some kind of mytre. However, that was short-lived given his recent questionable actions.
