Babes Wodumo Gain Access Into Her Old Instagram Account

Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane-Maphumulo is the reigning Queen of Gqom. This is despite having not released new music in years.

However, in part, the delay in her releasing new music can be attributed to the surprise and untimely passing of her husband and fellow Durban music legend Mampintsha Shimora back in December 2022. Since then, Babes has kept a fairly low profile.

But she has in the past reappeared using her late husband’s social media accounts. This comes after Babes’ own Instagram account was blocked back in 2022. As reported by Showmax during the airing of their reality show with Mampintsha Uthando Ludomo:

Just like many South African stars, Babes Wodumo has found herself as a victim of social media hacking. The singer, who has over two million followers on Instagram, has worked hard to get that kind of following on the social media platforms and feared the risk of losing her account forever.

But it seems that Babes is back if her recent posts are anything to go by.

Babes Wodumo gains access into her Instagram account

On Monday, 22 May 2023, Babes Wodumo confirmed that she has regained access into her Instagram account over a year since she had last posted on the timeline. As such, the first post, was a touching one dedicated to her late husband.

However, following that post, Babes reverted back to her usual posts on other social media platforms which featured her in heavy filtered images.

Hopefully, with Babes now with access to her Instagram, she will spend less time on Twitter. This is as her time on the blue app has seen her entertaining Twitter personality Michael “Mr. Smeg” Bucwa and his advances. As it was most recently reported:

Gqom queen Babes Wodumo may have bitten more than she can chew after hinting that she was more than ready to date again. As potential suitors are already flooding her social media with requests to take her out on dates.

Few days after Babes Wodumo eluded to be ready to visit the dating pool after her husband Mampintsha’s passing. Social media sensation Mr Smeg has once again wasted no time with attempts to shoot his shot after asking the Wololo hit maker out on a lunch date.
“Hey babes Wodumo, there aren’t enough words to describe you adequately. You never lack elegance or beauty. Your skin is flawless and lovely. The magnificent personification of excellence that is you serves as the embodiment of perfection. May I take you out for lunch,” wrote Mr Smeg.

Exactly four months ago Mr Smeg was called out to lay off of Babes Wodumo as she still mourning. This comes after when Mr Smeg was relentlessly glorifying Babes Wodumo as the most beautiful woman in the world exactly a few days after she buried Mampintsha. Famously known for appreciating and admiring female celebrities on Twitter and then asking them out for lunch, tweeps felt as though Mr Smeg was slowly worming his way to the then grieving Babes Wodumo’s heart.
