Somizi Mhlongo and his daughter Bahumi Madisakwane enjoy a beautiful relationship. Now, the young queen has just made Somizi a proud, beaming father, as he was present to celebrate her big day.
The actor took to Instagram to share a video of Bahumi at her graduation. In the video, she dons her graduation gown, looking radiant as always, and goes around greeting her guests at the ceremony. In the background, we can hear other graduates' names get called out, and Bahumi is beaming with joy.
Somizi gushed over his daughter with his caption of the video. He spoke of how proud of her he really is, and said that she is currently the pride of the whole family.
“There was a time I thought I’d never live to see this day… So proud of her… the first to ever graduate in our family… Congrats baby girl…” he wrote.
He also joked that it is now time for her to pay back all her school fees which he paid over the years, starting from this coming Monday, which totals to more than R2 Million.
Somizi has been his daughter’s biggest fan and supporter from day one. Not too long ago, he gifted her one of his most prized possessions – one of his favourite wigs.
He surprised the young actress with the expensive wavy hair piece, which he has worn on several special occasions, including on the Idols SA stage. Regardless of having his wigs mocked repeatedly by Ntsiki Mazwai, Somizi knew quality when he saw it, which is exactly what he wanted his daughter to have from him.
This is not the first time that the actor is gushing over his daughter following her amazing achievements. After she participated in a Tik Tok challenge that had celebrities and fans all over the world showcasing their acting skills, using a popular sound, the father could not have been prouder.
After Bahumi completely killed the brief skit, Somizi shared the video on Instagram, completely in awe of her skills. “My School fees are not going to waste at AFDA (in Kelly Khumalo’s voice) coz wow dear daughter u killed this… 80% natural,” he wrote.
Well, it looks like he was right, because she did an amazing job playing Lebo Mathosa. And luckily for Somizi, she has graduated now, so perhaps his wish will come true and she will be able to pay back his school fees.
A huge congratulations to Bahumi on this momentous occasion.
