After it was announced that Somizi's daughter, Bahumi, will play a young Lebo Mathosa in the upcoming biopic mini-series Dream: The Lebo Mathosa Story, social media has been divided and she faced a whole lot of backlash. Nevertheless, her father has been her biggest cheerleader.
When the announcement was first made that Kelly Khumalo and Bahumi would play the two roles, fans were 'disappointed' that Bahumi got the role. Many believe that she lacks experience and that nepotism was at play.

The negativity did not deter the actress from pouring her heart and soul into the character that she needs to portray. She talked to BET about the fondest memory she has about the late Lebo Mathosa.
Bahumi says that Lebo was maternal and protective over her. She also says that Lebo was like a second mother, which allows her to uniquely portray the star as she was closer to her and could tell her most sincere, humble and emotional side.
