During her first-ever interview with Glamour Magazine, Boity Thulo revealed that she is still a Sangoma, but she won't be consulting as yet.
The Bakae rapper said this is a private matter that she was not obliged to talk about any further, as she would not want to reduce it to just a mere celebrity gossip.
"Yes I did go thwasa but I’m not going to practice as a sangoma. This is a very sensitive matter that I don’t want to talk about in the media. It’s a personal matter and way too deep to be reduced into a celebrity gossip in the newspaper. It’s a secret. It’s so much deeper," she said.
When news broke of her practicing as a sangoma, fans got introduced to Gogo Boitumelo, who would help them with their spiritual journeys all over their timelines. She would help her followers by interpreting their dreams for them online.
Talking about her excitement as she begun this journey about 4 years ago, she wrote "They Called. I Answered. The Proudest, most Incredible day of my life. A Beautiful Gift that I will never take for granted."
Boity had a bit of a challenge balancing her celebrity status and protecting her very sacred Gogo Boitumelo.
Opening up about such a personal journey in ones life can be difficult as it opens doors for bullies. However for the reality TV star, she has zero regrets.
She slammed rumours that she revealed this part of her life with intentions of boosting her image and career.
"I wasn’t doing it for attention or to boost my career. I’m glad that I did it because as the year progressed, people were inspired, young girls who are on a spiritual journey especially … it was to challenge mainstream beliefs about traditional healing and show people there was nothing to fear," she clarified.
