Talented media personality, Bontle Modiselle, is fed up of the blatant disrespect given to dancers which she feels is completely unwarranted. The new mother has made a significant name for herself in the dance community and has become well-known for her moves that leave everyone envious of her talent!

In a Twitter rant shared today, 13 October 2020, the dancer tweeted, “Dancers don’t get the credit they deserve. You’re meant to stay in everyone else’s shadow. Stay small. Be JUST a dancer. But damn, I’m so proud of the dance community! Some of your fav entertainers today come from dance, have transitioned & become household names respectively.”

Bontle has been subjected to trolls who have critiqued her dance videos shared on her Instagram. The multi-faceted personality had to deal with haters back in June 2020, when she posted a video on social media dancing Focalistic’s smash hit single “Ke Star,” featuring  Vigro Deep. The post received so much backlash from trolls that suggested she trying too hard to dance like leading amapiano female vocalist and choreographer, Kamo Mphela.  It got so bad that she had to disable the comments and only recently turned them back on.

In a subsequent Tweet shared today, Bontle followed up with, “Very rarely do you find a dancer that is one dimensional, but folks aren’t comfortable with them being more than what they know you as, so any dancer that gets out of the “you’re just a dancer” limitation and becomes more than that, deserves their flowers.”

Over on her Instagram page, the dancer continuously proved her haters wrong by showing them that she is amongst the best dancers in the country, with her trendy moves and perfected technique. In a video on Monday, 12 October 2020, Bontle shared that her favourite form of exercise is dancing, and used talent as part of her recent partnership with Shield SA for their Move At Home campaign.

On Thursday, 17 September 2020 she reminded Mzansi that she never lost her groove since giving birth to her daughter Afrika, earlier this year. Bontle showed off a freestyle to Master KG’s worldwide hit single, Jerusalema, as she took her own spin on the dance challenge. She stated, “Great News!!! I’ve partnered up with @shieldza for the #MoveMoreAtHome campaign. Celebrating to the biggest dance challenge in the world right now. Summer bodies are loading...it’s time to level up. Ready or not, let’s dance!”.
