Since 2013, Busiswa has had us on our feet dropping hit after hit, and her commanding presence and talent has managed to sustain her relevance in the entertainment industry. Busiswa takes her throne as Bona magazine’s May cover girl and she is beyond ecstatic about it.

Today, Busiswa takes her throne as Bona magazine’s May cover girl and she is beyond ecstatic about it.

It’s no secret that the ‘big-bodied’ women in the industry don’t have it as easy other women with a slimmer frame and Busiswa attests to the fact that rejection has been a big part of her life but being on the cover of Bona magazine has been one exhilarating experience.

The Kalawa chikita says that she can proudly say that she is enough, and is glad that other girls who’ve faced rejection just as she has, can look up to her today.

“It’s about all the girls who’ve been told the same things I’ve heard: ‘You’re too big”, you must do more than talk in your songs. ‘You were better off as a poet, for your body-type. ‘What will you do if you run out of ideas? ‘We don’t design plus-sizes here.’ Well, 5 years in the music industry & there is one thing I know for sure: I AM ENOUGH!! YOU are enough”
