The cat is officially out of the bag. Talented South African actress, Candice Modiselle is the latest star to be joining popular drama The Queen. The announcement was made by her sister Bontle Modiselle through social media.

Candice is popular for her role as Lerato Matema on SABC 1’s Generations: The Legacy which she portrayed for three years before leaving the soapie. Explaining why she had decided to leave one of SA’s most popular shows in 2019, Modiselle revealed that she wanted to invest more of her time into her media company Busetsa Media.
"I plan on leaving no stone unturned. Though I have taken a slight break from acting to focus on my youth skills development company, Busetsa Media, I hope to make a return to theatre, devise my own work, venture into the big screen and all mediums of the arts and storytelling," she said.
In 2020 it was announced that Candice Modiselle and Amanda du-Pont were cast in the forthcoming animation Coconut Confidential. The series, which is written by Felicia Mabuza, tells the high school story of her daughter.
To give back, the star chats about the entertainment industry on IG to educate the youth about the game and what it takes to make it big. She is also planning to start her podcast this year. In a recent IG TV post, Candice shared some inspirational words to those individuals who want to follow in her footsteps.
“Think of someone like Moshe Ndiki as an example. Moshe started off creating videos on his phone, probably his Blackberry at the time, on his crate in his barren apartment.” She said. “And now he is where he is because he committed when his audience was close to zero. Look at all these influencers that are slowly rising up and doing phenomenal things because they are not waiting for the grand audience. They are not waiting to be featured on his article or working with these big brand but they are working nonetheless.” She further adds. “They are committing to the process, irrespective of how small the applause is.”
