Congratulations are in order for the Brown Eyes hitmaker Danny K following his big announcement on social media.
Taking to Instagram, the award-winning singer and businessman announced that he is officially the new owner of Sweets From Heaven.
He thanked the founders of the company and promised to grow it further.
He wrote, "Proud to announce that my business KD FOODS has purchased Sweets From Heaven. This incredible brand was founded in 1988 and captured the hearts and minds of South Africans for generations.
"We thank those responsible for founding and building this wonderful confectionery brand and commit to taking it to the next level. Watch this space."
Fans and other celebrities including DJ Zinhle and Sketch Bongo have since taken to the comments section to congratulate Danny K.
The singer has also opened up to CapeTalk about his business venture. He said his company has a long-running relationship with Sweets From Heaven.
"I'm proud to say that now we are official owners of the trademark and the business, all these years later. It's a fantastic brand that I think many South Africans have grown up loving, including myself."
He also admitted that the pandemic has been harsh on the music industry adding that he is lucky to have his business during this time.
"The past two years have been very tough for the music industry, so I'm lucky that I had this interest and this business... I'm in Dubai at the moment with Bell Foods... looking at some interesting things around food development..." he told the radio station.
