In a social media post by entertainment commentator Phil Mphela, Dawn might have already left the show as he referred to her as 'former Uzalo actress.' The show is currently shooting season 5 so Dawn's long stay with the show has come to an abrupt end after 4 seasons with them.
Dawn Thandeka King plays the feisty MaNgcobo on the drama series and her bold character has kept viewers glued to their screens weeknights on SABC 1. She has left the telenovela to pursue another leading role in a new show called Diepslot which is produced by Black Brain Pictures. The name will however change as the premier nears.
Last year there were rumours that the actress left the the show along with fellow actor Siyabonga Shibe who portrays Qhabanga. This was due to rumours which said the two stars wanted salary increases. “Dawn is, in fact, among the actors who have a dark cloud hanging over their head, her attitude recently isn’t doing her any favour, She makes the writers and directors’ job difficult because she sometimes demands to change the story-lines,” a source told a publication.
She was also accused of having diva tendencies on set, when she apparently makes the directors and writer's job hard with demands to change the story line.
Well clearly the saying where there is smoke there is fire because both the actors have now left the show. Siyabonga departed from the production last year and wrote a lengthy Instagram post.
His exit is not entirely for good, as he has kept his fans' hopes up by promising them "he will be back."
"What a great journey it has been with #uzalo_sabc1 I enjoyed every moment of this production. I would love to first thank the Crew, you guys work tirelessly and passionately, on set it is always fun and laugher everyday and you put up with my good nonsense. I honestly respect you I have made friends with you guys and met brothers and sisters.

To the Cast ohh my God I don’t know where to begin, you guys are amazing. Working with you all has been a gem, a fantastic experience and a learning experience. It has been my honour to share a screen and wear those shoes of every character we play together. We really make the script come to life we’ll work again," he wrote.
