Speaking to DJ Fresh on the podcast 'WAW! What A Week Podcast' DJ Sbu shared his thoughts on Mass Country and said AKA created quality music all his life, but this project is one for the books.

"Big up to Mega for showing that you can go out in grace as a musician. We are always accustomed to artists dying broke, when they pass on they are asking for donations. AKA's memorial was amazing, his funeral was amazing and he left an amazing piece of art and left a beautiful legacy for his family. But what I love is that he understood the value of a will, to pass on what they call generational wealth.

"The music will forever benefit Kairo and her children forever because he had a will and all of these things together," added DJ Sbu. "I just want to big him up for raising the bar, the quality of music that AKA has always made, but if you listen to this album right now he took it a bar even further. That's what musician should aim to do. Everytim you should aim to be better."

He then said he challenges all entertainers and artists to do the same.

One person who totally disagrees with DJ Sbu though is Slik Talk who gave the album a 2/10 rating, saying it is garbage.

“So I just listened to AKA’s new album called Mass Country and I’m going to give it a solid 2//10. I absolutely hate everything about this album, it’s absolutely one of the worst albums I’ve ever heard in my life. Sonically, it doesn’t even sound good, the mixing is terrible, I do not like this album one bit,” he started out.

“It has not 1 hit, people talk about the song called Company, it’s not a hit, AKA left us an absolute piece of sh*t. This album is not worth listening to for the second time,” further added Slik Talk.

Slik then took aim at Nadia Nakai, “I heard a lousy verse from Nadia Nakai which was not needed absolutely at all. I don’t know why she was there, she didn’t deserve to be there, she didn’t need to be there,” he added.

“You were never good in Durban AKA, you were never free to roam the streets of Durban because they still haven’t forgiven you for what you did to their sunflower. You think people forgot about Nelli Tembe? Is that what you think? You think people have forgotten what happened to Nelli Tembe? AKA rest in peace my brother but life does not work like that. People don’t just move on in the blink of an eye, that’s not how life works. You have to be careful and you have to move accordingly,”  he said.

His previous video, he slammed AKA for not having protection in Durban.

“You were never good in Durban AKA, you were never free to roam the streets of Durban because they still haven’t forgiven you for what you did to their sunflower. You think people forgot about Nelli Tembe? AKA rest in peace my brother, but life does not work like that. People don’t just move on in a blink of an eye … You have to be careful and you have to move accordingly,” said Slik.

Slik Talk added that AKA was not home so he should have been more careful,  “Life does not work like that, you have to be cautious at all times … because you not home, you in Durban my G ….

“AKA was careless with his movement, lets call a spade a spade. I love the guy’s music and I liked his personality, but at the end of the day we have to learn from his mistakes, so we don’t repeat them. You don’t go to a place where you not welcome and think you are the king, walking around at night thinking you’re the man. Life does not work like that.”
