DJ Tira assured fans of the music event that they will still get to enjoy the event despite the Kwa-Zulu Natal government's decision to put a stop on any major outdoor or indoor events this festive season. The popular Durban DJ will be bringing the entertainment to people's homes this December as the concert, which will be hosted by Zulu Makhathini aka Dash, will continue virtually.

On Thursday Tira announced that the concert, which is famous for it's star studded line-up will be broadcast on Channel O.
A statement released by Fact Durban Rocks on their Twitter page reads, "DJ Tira welcomes KwaZulu-Natal Government's announcement that major events be paused due to health concerns caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The annual Fact Durban Rocks will however continue as planned albeit with no live audience," the statement reads.
DJ Tira also added a few words by saying, "We are working on a virtual concert that will make sure that people have something to stay for at home this festive (season). We call on the government to support us as thus ban on events will not only affect the livelihoods of artists who are already struggling but small businesses who depend on events."
Rocking the stage is the man himself along with the country's finest acts including duo Blaq Diamond, Dladla Mshunqisi, Sjava, Nomcebo Zikode, Simmy and many more.
Fact Durban Rocks is sponsored by the Department of Arts And Culture and will take place at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Watch it on December 31 from 9 PM to 3 AM on Channel O.
When making the announcement through a press release, the government said they are trying to curb the spread by all means necessary.
"The Executive Council on advice by medical and scientific practitioners resolved not to encourage the hosting of major events in the province owing to the threat and risks imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. KZN is edging closer towards the Covid-19 second wave cliff, according to the latest figures," they said.
