In a post that was supposed to be inspirational and aspiring, Drip footwear founder Lekau Sehoana has found himself in a crossfire as tweeps have criticized him to the bone for the pictures he has shared.

Taking to Twitter, Lekau Sehoana has shared a beautifully written post, accompanied by his then old pictures. In an attempt to share his rather sad upbringing before arriving where he is right now. Lekau Sehoana details a period in his life where he was sleeping on the floor and went on to say he has no intentions going back to that life again.

“My mission at Drip is to Secure it’s future. In a world that’s evolving so much, i have to take my mind into 20 years and 40 years On Twitter, I’m taken 10 Years back, This drunk guy I know exactly who I am, where I come from. Please don’t remind me. I don’t wanna Go BACK!!” wrote Lekau Sehoana

Tweeps did not waste any of their time nor mince their words as they went in guns blazing to cut Lekau Sehoana to size following his post. Although the post was supposed to be inspirational and aspiring as he was sharing his past hardship and how he arrived where he is currently. However, tweeps were certainly not jumping for joy together with him.

Lekau Sehoana catching smoke on social media has become a norm recently and this comes after having business and contractual disputes with some of his celebrity ambassadors in the past, including Cassper Nyovest.

“What’s the point of this tweet? Why must black entrepreneurs always have to attach their success to their struggles? wrote Khanda Limshel’okwakhe

“What percentage of drip do you own Sir and who are you in partnership with and how much percentage of drip, do those partners own? As people who support this brand, we deserve to know the shareholding of this brand, please clarify” wrote Sipiwo

Another rumor that has been making rounds on social media surrounding the Drip footwear and Lekau Sehoana is that he only owns 2% of the company. Amongst some of his old tweets that has rubbed a number of people the wrong way. He once tweeted that “one day he would marry a porn star”, he even went on to criticize former President Jacob Zuma.

“Did you apologize to president Jacob Zuma??? Do that please for all South Africans to keep supporting you” wrote Not Gonna Allow It

Is Lekau Sehoana’s backlash on social media par for the course? Well, only tweeps can tell.
