Gospel sensation, Hlengiwe Mhlaba is currently going through the most. The star was admitted at a hospital in Empangeni after surviving a car accident. This ordeal befell Hlengiwe after attending to her performing duties in Melmoth, Kwa Zulu Natal.
According to Isolezwe, Hlengiwe's spokesperson, Nkululeko Khanyi confirmed that, indeed the gospel star was involved in a serious car accident in Melmoth on Saturday afternoon. He also pleaded with Hlengiwe's followers to be a tad patient as she is still in recovery mode and also went on to ask for prayers at this traumatic period in Hlengiwe's life, as it is believed that she is now recovering at home.
Nkululeko continued to share following:
"Hlengiwe was travelling with a colleague, heading to a another gig in Ermelo, Mpumalanga. A car that collided with theirs, drove straight into the car that Hlengi was travelling in, a white Mercedes Benz GL 320 CDI, of which she had just bought on Thursday. ''
He continued to add:
"Due to the heavy rains on that day, the road was slippery, which caused the car to lose traction and roll over three times. If it wasn't for the seat belt and air bag, it would have been a different story for Hlengiwe."

The publication also stated that, this wasn't the first time that, Hlengiwe had survived a car accident. Around last year June, the same ordeal hovered over her, after performing at the 'We Are One Festival in Bridge City', Kwa Mashu.
In May 2019, the Rock Of Ages hit-maker shared with the public about her a dark personal experience in her youth.
Hlengiwe opened up about near suicide episode, whereby she had used her school belt to hang herself but somehow got saved ''at the nick of time'', as she put it. All of this was a culmination, due to depressing experiences in her life .
