Jafta Mamabolo Celebrates A Huge Milestone

When he is not gracing TV screens, the former Generations star Jafta Mamabolo is making magic behind the scenes and it is clear that his hard work has paid off as he is now celebrating a huge milestone of his career.

The actor and director recently took to Instagram to announce that his very own film titled Freedom is now showing on DSTV Box Office. Jafta wrote and directed the film making it his very first directory and writing.

“I made a movie, y’all!!!! #Freedom now exclusively on @dstvza Box-Office! Beeeeen waiting to say this. Please go watch and support!” he wrote celebrating his milestone on Instagram.

The film features the likes of the late Mary Twala, Kenneth Nkosi, Jeffrey Sekele, and Mandla Gaduka just to mention a few.

Actress and singer Samkelo Ndlovu who is also part of the film said she is privileged to be part of the film and to also witness Jafta’s dream coming into reality.

She wrote: “My bestie @jaftamamabolo ‘s Directorial and Writing debut, his film FREEDOM - NOW SHOWING ON DSTV Box Office. I am honored to have been a part of your dream coming into fruition and thankful to have been trusted with this role. #Film #SAFilm #DirectorialDebut #Actor.”

Taking to then comments section to congratulate Jafta on his big achievement @gavin_mahlangu wrote: “Saw the trailer. So proud of you. Congratulations. Can’t wait to see you in this movie.”

Actor Neo Ntlatleng: “This is a major triumph bro. Congratulations to you and the team. Big up on the Writer / Director debut.”
Jafta has appeared on Mzansi’s top shows and movies such as Otelo Burning, Kalushi: The Story of Solomon Mahlangu, Soul Buddyz, and Jerusalema which is now available on Netflix.

Sharing the news on his Instagram, he wrote: “Some good news to beat the lockdown blues! I’m so chuffed to announce that JERUSALEMA will be available for streaming on @netflixsa from this Friday, May 1st, 2020! Enjoy! PS. Yes - I shot all the guns and spun all the cars. I don’t know why no one believes me!”

The feature film has won numerous awards including Durban International Film Festival in 2008 for the Best Feature Film, Ouagadougou Panafrican Film, and Television Festival in 2009 for Best Actor, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing, Zanzibar International Film Festival also in 2009. Jerusalema also scooped a nomination for the Best International Film at Zurich Film Festival in 2008
