On this day a media personality and star was born, and in this article, we take a look at some of his most controversial highlights from the past year for Katlego Maboe.
His arrest
Katlego Maboe was arrested in early 2020, according to reports. This was apparently owing to him being in contempt of court. He appeared before the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on January 6 after his arrest on January 2. His public relations staff refused to comment on the situation because as it was still ongoing.
According to News24, the broadcaster was not meant to be in court in the first place. His lawyer, Ellen Louis, confirmed this to the publication, claiming that the allegations against Katlego were baseless.
Several publications have linked his arrest to the complaint that his ex-girlfriend filed against him. Monique Muller accused Katlego last year of not just cheating on him with Nikita Murray, a former OUTsurance employee, but also of transmitting an STD that prohibits her from becoming pregnant. Domestic violence allegations were also made, however, he disputed them.

Katlego’s marital woes
It is said that when it rains, it pours, and it did for Katlego Maboe, a well-known television broadcaster. He was caught cheating on his wife with his coworker and friend Nikita Murray in a video that went viral.
His wife shared a video in which she is seen grilling Katlego and eventually getting a confession from him. The actor appears to be heartbroken by his actions and even acknowledges who he slept with live on camera. His brother-in-law made a point of exposing the star and tagging all of the companies for which he works. Some Twitter users even dubbed the action a career assassination.
Katlego decided to clear the air with everyone on his Instagram page in a long written confession, admitting to cheating but adamantly denying any charges of abuse.

His alleged mistress unmasked
After years of hard work, a respectable brand was shattered by a single moment of weakness. A clip of SABC 3’s Expresso Morning show presenter Katlego that went viral on social media rocked the nation to its core. While many assumed it was an advertisement because he is famed for his Outsurance commercials, the clip was genuine.
Katlego admits to being wrong in the tape, which shows his wife Monique Muller exposing him for cheating on her. Monique reveals that she has been diagnosed with an STD that has caused harm to her womb.
Nikita Murray, the woman he was accused of having an affair with was the talking point on Twitter, when people discovered that she was also married.

Allegations about the STD unproven
Katlego Maboe‘s philandering ways have been uncovered by his wife Monique Muller, resulting in her being infected with an STD (sexually transmitted disease) by Katlego, causing an issue with her fertility.
The ailment that Katlego allegedly passed on to his wife is called (Human papillomavirus infection) HPV, and it has put a strain on their relationship, leading to Monique’s public outburst.
Katlego’s involvement began, according to sources, during a Lays Chips-sponsored trip to see a UEFA Champions League match.
Katlego, who was a Lays brand ambassador at the time, was also part of the party that traveled abroad, which is when Monique, who was 8 months pregnant at the time, claims Katlego returned a completely different guy, prompting Muller to leave the relationship.
When Monique returned to her parents’ home, the two began to work things out and eventually reunited. However, in July of 2020, Monique went to a Gynaecologist for an appointment, and it was there that she learned she had HPV, a disease that can lead to Cervical Cancer.
