TV personality and Singer Katlego Maboe is reportedly demanding R4 Million for reputation and psychological damage.
According to Netwerk24, Katlego is demanding R1 million, which makes a total of R4 Million from his ex-wife Monique Mulle, Monique's brother, Sabrina Walters, the founder of Women for Change, and Dr. Janet van Eeden, chairperson of the judges for the National Film and Video Foundation's (NFVF) South African Film and Television Awards (Saftas)

The publication also revealed that Katlego is demanding that the four people mentioned above pay him within three weeks.

"If they don't pay the R4 million, he will start official damage claims against them. He is claiming loss of income, psychological damage, and damage to his reputation," reported Netwerk 24.

In October 2020, Katlego’s ex-wife Monique Muller exposed him for cheating. In a viral video, Monique accused Katlego of giving her an STI as well as being abusive.

Amid these allegations, Katlego lost his job as a presenter for SABC 3's Expresso and also parted ways with OUTsurance.

Earlier this year, the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) announced him as a nominee for the Best TV Presenter award. However, the organization later announced that he has been removed from the nominees' list.

Speaking to eNCA, SAFTA's judging chairperson Janet Van Eeden revealed that they received pressure from GBV organizations and gay organizations to remove Katlego from the list.

The anti-gender-based violence organization called 'Woman For Change' also tweeted that three more women allegedly opened a sexual assault case against Katlego.

"Katlego Maboe's ex-girlfriend Monique had obtained a protection order against him which he allegedly breached. It's alleged that three women have opened a case of sexual assault against Katlego. Let’s keep men accountable for their actions. #believeher"
Taking to Instagram recently, Katlego shared that the past year has been hard.

"The past year has taken so much away from all of us and for some of us, it has taken everything. Be that as it may, I still firmly believe that there is so much to be grateful for especially while facing daunting prospects.

The very breath in our lungs is a signal that echoes the need for gratitude amidst the raging storm - not so much as to brush off as insignificant the challenges we have gone through and still face daily, but as a firm stance to affirm that we will not be defeated,” he said on Instagram as he made his return to social media after he had taken a few months break.
