Mzansi can't get enough of the new Hippo Ad where the insurance company takes a swipe at their competition, Outsurance. The ad which is so carefully executed sees a Katlego Maboe look-a-like seemingly mocking the way he got dismissed from the company.
Katlego Maboe has been trending ever since his return to Expresso. But he is currently trending because of a hilarious ad from Hippo, an insurance company.
In the ad, a woman driving a car and a Katlego Maboe look-a-like are discussing her ways to save on vehicle cover when they are interrupted by a Hippo who shows her a better quote.
The lady then confronts the rep and says she could save more money with Hippo and then proceeds to say, 'Out'. This was a blatant mockery to Outsurance but what was even funnier was the fact that the rep was always smiling throughout. If you know Maboe, he is always smiling and fans love him for that.

Following the drama involving Katlego Maboe and his ex Monique Muller, Outsurance distanced themselves from him and removed his ads 'as soon as practically possible.'
They also addressed claims that his lover, Nikita Murray met while they both worked for the company.
โIt is important to note that Katlego is not an Outsurance employee or a permanent contractor to Outsurance. He is a professional actor who is paid on a campaign-by-campaign basis. Katlego has received his full compensation from Outsurance for all past as well as the current campaign in which he was featured. This includes performance as well as full usage fees for the entire campaign.โ
โWe also want to clarify that Nikita Murray is not a current Outsurance employee. She last worked for the company in 2018. Katlego and Nikita met independently."
Katlego Maboe recently returned to Expresso and in the first episode he had an exclusive sit down interview with his co-host and he spoke in depth about his trials and tribulations since the drama 2 years ago.
โThere have been many touch-and-go moments where my self-identity was questioned, but I worked my way through it with support from friends and family and people who I met in person or on social media who have constantly told me to โGet up and start againโ.โ
