Empini hitmaker Kelly Khumalo is no doubt one of Mzansi’s prettiest celebrities, which is why it is not surprising that she went into the beauty business, with the Kelly Khumalo Skin line. But now fans are wondering if she is going too far.
The singer recently shared some photos of herself with freshly done hair and makeup. And while we can all agree that whoever did her face beat did an amazing job, the transformation was a little too radical for some of her fans.
Social media users went online to shower praises on her, calling her gorgeous, of course. But some shared their confusion. “Is this really Kelly Khumalo? She looks so different,” many demanded to know. What do you think? Would you have recognized her if you came across these pictures elsewhere?
Her real fans, however, either do not notice that she looks a little different, or they just don’t mind. She even trended for a while after the pictures because of how gorgeous they think she looked, and we agree. Kelly Khumalo’s beauty deserves to trend everyday, and one extra day for her beautiful voice.
Kelly is not the only celebrity who has confused Mzansi with her makeup looks. Just recently, Pearl Thusi sparked a debate online after she shared pictures in which her face looked completely different. She was trolled for overdoing the “Lagos editing”, and some of her fans were even convinced she had been swapped out for a clone. A bit ridiculous, we know.

Kamo Mphela has also received a lot of criticism for her face beats. In fact, in the streets of social media, she is considered something of a shape shifting genius. Tweeps have often complained that they cannot tell who she is every time she shows up or posts pictures, and that they are getting tired of having to guess what “face” she has on for the day. Ouch!

That aside, Kelly is certainly deep in her bag at the moment. The multitalented queen recently took to her social media to share the news that Kelly K Skin By Bioquantine, would be partnering with Mzansi’s biggest online store, Take A Lot. Since then, the brand has received glowing reviews from its patrons, all which no doubt warm the songstress’s heart, as she constantly shares and gushes over them on her socials.
While she did look a little different from the face we are used to, we think we would recognise that gorgeous face anywhere. Perhaps fans are just being a little dramatic. What do you think? Did she do too much, or was it just right?
