When a Showmax Series Hlomu the Wife started, a lot of people were happy and praising it for being a different yet a good watch.  Over the weeks it seems to have been taking a different route which has now leaded to viewers asking themselves what is really happening. Others took it to Twitter after Showmax released the trailer of the last four episodes of book one for Thursday 3 February that the writers of the series did not read the book.

Other viewers commented just because they said it was inspired does not mean they should disrespect the original author of the series which is Dudu-Busani Dube.
In the trailer viewers saw Hlomu played by Mbalenhle Mavimbela and Qhawe played by Kwenzo Ngcobo having a steamy session.
This was not the first time viewers’ were disappointment as previously they expected Mqobi to be the one crushing on Hlomu but instead his role was ended when he died unexpectedly in a shooting scene during Mqhele and Hlomu’s wedding. Just last week the viewers witnessed Hlomu and Sandile cheating and this week again they will be subjected to another cheating. Dreaming or not as Showmax online implicit on Twitter, the viewers are not having it this time around.
Viewers are concerned that if this is real Qhawe and Naledi’s love story will not be the same. Their Naledi cannot arrive to a Qhawe that is sleeping or slept with his brother’s wife. They want Naledi competing with a dead ex- girlfriend as mentioned in the book.

Another viewer who was also not happy was award winning content creator of the Rich Makoti  Paballo Kgware known throughout social media for her funny videos portraying how a rich makoti behaves. Paballo was once posted by Showmax on Instagram as many thought she should be a suitable Naledi as she well fitted the description.

Paballo expressed that she was excited for Qhawe and Naledi’s  story, but hayi ( No) after that trailer I feel like it’s going be disappointment after disappointment.


Paballo continue to share that they chose a wrong story to do the whole “inspired by thing”. 

“They’ve strayed so far and there’s no way fans won’t be disappointed. They should either gone by the book or written a whole different story,” she wrote on Twitter.
Another viewer jump in to ask if she was not Naledi in the series and she answered “No”.

Rumours on the streets insinuate that the writers might be in a hurry to Introduce Zandile -The Resolute which is book two starring Khanyi Mbawu as Zandile wife to  Nkosana.  Either that or they have really lost the plot which is not a surprise as some viewers saw this from the first episode when they made Qhawe meet Hlomu first.
