Khanyi Mbau and BET Africa have officially confirmed the premiere date and title for the upcoming reality show, MBAU RELOADED: ALWAYS RISE. The 13-part series will premiere on Saturday, 10 October 2020 at 19:30 CAT and will follow the media personality as she juggles between motherhood, sisterhood, family and multi business successful entrepreneur.

In a press release released by BET Africa on Wednesday, 30 September 2020, Khanyi stated, “I am extremely excited to partner with BET Africa again. The dynamic series will give viewers insights into my personal life on so many levels. I am proud to have an all-female crew document, package, produce and share my life with you. Come journey with me, this is MBAU RELOADED: ALWAYS RISE”.

What may come as a surprise to many is the inclusion of Khanyi’s teenage daughter, Khanukani, also known as Cannes, who has remained out of the spotlight for much of her life. The others who will be featured in the reality are elder sister and best friend Thandeka and younger brother who is the heir to the Mcunu clan, Junior. It is unclear whether Khanyi’s half-brother, Lasizwe, will also be featured on the show, seeing as though Khanyi has remained a consistent cast member of his MTV series, Fake It Till You Make It.

Not one to shy away from the spotlight, MBAU RELOADED: ALWAYS RISE will see the Khanyi interacting with the closest people in her life, and showcasing a different part of her dynamic personality. “Underneath the pouting persona with eyelashes for days and poses behind the wheel of a Lamborghini, there is a Mother with no make-up bonding with her teenage daughter at home, a sister and a woman searching for the joy that she hasn’t felt for years.”, BET Africa stated.

BET Africa and Khanyi Mbau are also proud to share that the series has been produced and directed by an all-female crew, further advocating for black, female empowerment. Monde Twala, Senior Vice President and General Manager at ViacomCBS Networks Africa commented, "It’s inspiring to collaborate with Khanyi Mbau again on the channel that is renowned for celebrating black excellence. BET Africa is proud to continue on its commitment of bringing African audiences local content that is fun, bold and relevant.
