According to a statement released by Derrango Records on Saturday 24 December 2022, the artist suffered a minor stroke during a performance in Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal on Friday.
The Durban-based artist is admitted to a hospital receiving medical attention and is said to be responding well. “This is a public notification to media, events promoters, fans, and all relevant stakeholders by Derrango Records on behalf of its multi-award winning artist by the name of Thokozani Sphamandla Ndlovu also known as 'Lvovo Derrango'.
In light of Lvovo's stroke, the family has asked the public to keep them in their prayers.

“Lvovo Derrango suffered a minor stroke during his performance at Indwedwe on [Friday]. He is admitted at the hospital for medical attention and he is responding very well. We kindly ask that you keep him in your prayers and we're confident that he will come out of this difficult situation stronger. The family kindly ask for public and media to respect their privacy during this difficult time,” read the statement.
On Christmas Day, 25 December 2022, his record label shared the latest update on his health and slammed the hurtful rumours that he had allegedly died.
“This notification serves to dispel the trending rumours that he has passed. This is untrue and grossly hurtful to his family. He is still hospitalised and making excellent progress," read part of the statement.
The record label asked the public and media to refrain from spreading "hurtful rumours" about L'vovo.Several celebs including Zakes Bantwini and Prince Kaybee have wished him a speedy recovery.
