Award-winning amapiano's first lady, Lady Du, has taken too her Instagram account to remember the late amapiano star Mongezi Thomas Stuurma, also known as Mpura.

Mpura died in August 2021 after being involved in a car accident while travelling en route to a concert in Rustenburg. The head-on collision claimed the lives of six people.

Although the musician is no more, he left behind a string of memories that will not soon be forgotten. Lady Du shared a picture of them together with an emotional caption. "It was your soul that touched us all!!! We miss you @mpura_mpura Thank you God for this, you guys have a special place in my heart abo buti bam. First Lady of the yano."

She also shared a picture of the ink she got on her hand in honor of the late Mpura and Killer Kau.

At Mpura's funeral, Lady Du told people that Mpura laid all his life's struggles on his hit single Impilo Yase SandtonHe promises his mother a soft life in the luxurious city of Sandton.

"He said to me 'you know what friend, I want to leave a legacy for my mum and my family. One thing I do not want to do was to leave earth and not do something for my family," said Lady Du.

Lady Du also spoke about how he gave her a chance when nobody did, "Mpura was the one person who gave me an opportunity when I was just sitting in the studio. When they were singing Umsebenzi Wethu, then he called me to the mic. At that time I was depressed, I wasn't in a good space. I said to Mpura I can't sing," she said.

Lady Du recently broke up with her hubby Andile Mxakaza. After announcing their breakup fans accused her of breaking up with Andile because he's "broke" but, the singer has denied the claim. According to her, she has worked hard all her life to accumulate her wealth.

She said she has never been with someone for money. " I have never ever been with anyone for money. It’s purely out of love when I date, one thing I appreciate that my dad taught me is to never put a price tag on love, because when the price is no longer there you’ll be the most miserable person ever. I have built myself to be the woman I am today! With the help of my father! As soon as I turned 20 I moved out of home Got my own space! Life yes dribbled me a bit but I Got back on my feet.
