The Amapiano fraternity is still grieving Mpura's untimely passing as his absence is still very much felt. Today, Mpura wadi bedtime story would have turned 26-years-old.

Mpura, real name Mongezi Stuurman, passed away after the car he was travelling in collided with another which was driven by a fire fighter. In the car, were other occupants and 5 lost their lives. This includes his very good friend Killer Kau, Thando Tot and TD.
The news sent shockwaves across Mzansi and many are still touched by their deaths.
Fans, friends and industry mates have wished Mpura his first heavenly birthday today.
Lady Du his very good friend, who spoke so highly about their friendship, saying how they would encourage each other to pray and excel in life, wished him a good one.
"Du please sing for me'. Ay Mpura, Happy heavenly birthday my friend. I love and miss you," she wrote.
At his funeral, Lady Du sang her verse on Umsebenzi Wethu which Mpura loved deeply. She also spoke about his role in her life which also included giving her money to take care of her child.
"Mpura was the one person who gave me an opportunity when I was just sitting at the studio. When they were singing Umsebenzi Wethu, then he called me to the mic. At that time I was depressed, I wasn't in a good space. I said to Mpura I can't sing," she said.
On Twitter, fans also wished Mpura a good one, "Happy heavenly birthday to a beacon on light and a legend @mpura_mpura. You’ll Always be in our hearts with thank you for your immense contribution to the South African music industry! Announcing his death, the record label he was signed to SME revealed that their families received the call on August 9. "It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of 3 members affiliated with the record label, SMEA, an inspiring record label from Soweto. The trio was travelling to a gig in Rustenburg with other artists in the car. Involved in this fatality was hitmaker and Amapiano co-pioneer Killer Kau. Thando Tot was his DJ, TD who was SMEA's official road manager, Mpura Mpura Artist, The Voice (Mpura’s DJ) and 1 other female."
At his funeral Riky Rick spoke about the man Mpura was, "We have to have faith that Mongezi in a happy place. We have to faith that he is right next to Jesus right now, telling him the best bed time story ever."
"He made you realise that life was meant for living. He would make you laugh when you really felt like crying, he would pick you up when you felt like the world was collapsing on top of you. When you had no more hope he would look you in the eyes and say don't worry grootman, you'll operate this one."
