The death of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes has not been sitting well on a lot of people. The rapper was shot dead in Durban last month along with his friend Tebello Tibz.

Adjusting to life after Kiernan, Lynn Forbes, his mother continues to pen heartbreaking messages on her social media pages.

The mother who was very close to her son, revealed that she had suffered a great loss in her life. She says her world feels depopulated as her eldest son is no longer in it.

Taking to Instagram just recently, Lynn Forbes wrote, “A piece of my soul is gone forever. ”

Reports spoke of a breakthrough in AKA'S murder investigation however the police refuted such claims. The suspects have since been released, causing a frenzy on social media.

The Forbes family issued a statement warning the public of peddling such reports as they do more harm than good. They also made mention of scammers posing as the Forbes family trying to get money from people.

“We are at a loss for words to describe or gratitude for the outpouring of love that we’ve received from the Megacy. We’ve seen people deeply hurt and angered by Kiernan murder and wanting justice. As a family, we empathise with the grief experienced and we understand your pain,” the statement reads.

“We are aware of the growing public discontent related to the progress which has been made in the investigation. However, as a family, we are deeply concerned that irresponsible actions, accusations and assumptions may cause more harm than good,” the family Continued.

“At this time, we call on the Megacy to mourn responsibly and ask for patience so that the law enforcers have the space to do their job. We humbly request that you continue celebrating Kiernan’s life, preserve his memory and continue his legacy through his music. Your joyous celebration of his life gives us comfort. "

The family has also been alerted of scammers posing as the family “Lastly, we would like to bring to your attention that there are false requests for donations and investments from people posing as members of the Forbes family. We have not opened any donation accounts or requested investments,” she added

AKA's father Tony Forbes also broke his silence and said they want to see justice, “We would like to see justice being served and the perpetrators brought to book. He’s gone. Someone killed him. Right now, we are grieving. We are keeping an eye on developments in the news and hoping that something positive will happen …,” IOL quoted him.

Lynn previously penned another post speaking about the trauma of losing someone close to you.

“Trauma permanently changes us. A major life disruption leaves a ‘new normal’ in its wake. There is no ‘back to the old me’. You are different now. Full stop.”
