According to the publication, the singer who recently made a triumphant return with Big Nuz after a decade-long split was admitted to King Edward Hospital in Durban over the weekend and then transferred to Durdoc Hospital.

Mampintsha's health has been scrutinized on social media after fans questioned his mysterious weight loss. The Ngeke hitmaker who is married to self-proclaimed Gqom Queen Babes Wodumo, had to address social media users' distasteful comments surrounding his weight. He said he did not care because people mocked him when he was still overweight.

He also mentioned that he had taken the healthy eating route. In addition, he revealed that he had bought gym equipment with the goal of losing fat and getting fit.

According to his sister Pinki Gumede, they received a call on Saturday 17 December informing them to rush to his house.

"When we arrived he looked very sick. His speech was very affected. He told us that he consulted with a sangoma and was told to do (amagobongo)  traditional ceremony," Pinki told the outlet.

Pinki revealed that they bought a goat for the ritual but Mampintsha did not arrive home for the ritual. Instead, they slaughtered the goat and ate it.

'He asked us to buy a goat and get impepho, so he could perform the ritual. We went back home and did exactly that. But he never arrived. Instead, he told us to perform the ritual without him. We were surprised by this., but couldn't do anything. As a result,  we slaughtered the goat and ate it. But we did not burn impepho," she said.

"Days later we learned that he had suffered a  stroke and he was admitted to hospital. Again we contacted Babes and her family, but we were told not to worry about him because everything is fine. We know he's very sick but we are being sidelined again and there is nothing we can do. We are worried and scared that something bad might happen to him."

Another celeb who suffered a stroke that affected her speech and ability to communicate is Lira. However, she is making great progress in her recovery. Taking to her Instagram account in September, the Feel So Good hitmaker shared a health update and said she was feeling better.

"Can you believe it’s been 6 months - how time flies. The second and third frame is where I used to be at! I am feeling like myself yet I’m still on my recovery journey. It’s going to take some time- but it’s reversible! This process has been fascinating for me and although it’s quite challenging at times, I am happy. Just to be alive each day is a blessing. To be among friends and loved ones is a precious gift. Many of you have been rooting for me and your support has meant the world to me!"
