After weeks and weeks of waiting, Mbali Maphumulo is set to make her highly anticipated debut on Uzalo this evening.

The seasoned actress recently bagged the character of Wenzile on the show, amid drastic changes Uzalo has been making to increase its ratings, which have been dropping dramatically lately. According to Daily Sun source, viewers are set to be captivated by Mbali's enthralling performances on the show who will play a no-nonsense woman.
“Her role is that of a no-nonsense, driven woman whose main priority is to succeed in her career. She’s settled well into the role and viewers are going to love her.” said the source.
Another source told the publication that Mbali was added to the cast due to the major twists to the storyline Uzalo has been making to boost viewership and her impeccable acting prowess.
“They want to spice things up. They have been trying for a while now to get back to their former glory and hope this will do the trick. “Mbali is an accomplished actress and that is part of the reason they chose her,” the source to Daily Sun.
Mbali has starred in several local productions including Tshisa and Isibaya. The actress is also married to Dumisani Mbebe.Uzalo's Season 7 will also see old characters making a huge comeback to spice things up. This includes Khaya Dladla, TK Dlamini, Nay Maps, as well as Nokuthula Mabika.
Speaking to Daily Sun Khaya Dladla confirmed that he is coming back and a flyer confirming their return has been making rounds on social media.
“I’m not sure when I’m going to appear on TV, but we have agreed to come back to Uzalo. I’m preparing to be on set soon,” Khaya told Daily Sun.
Recently astute entrepreneur Shauwn Mkhize joined the show. This was MaMkhize's first acting gig and tweeps questioned her acting capabilities as news spread like wildfire that she is joining the show. The actress revealed to TshisaLive that she did not audition for the role and she has never had any interest in acting.
Uzalo viewers accused her of apparently paying the production to make her appearance, but she is no stranger to our small screens. Mamkhize had a reality show on Mzansi Magic called KwaMamKhize, which was centered around her family. The first season premiered early last year and she recently confirmed that there will be no season two.
Speaking to Drum magazine, she said she has accomplished what she wanted to and said there is no need for a second season.
