Arguably one of South Africa's most successful artists and very controversial because of her performances and sexually-liberated nature, Moonchild Sanelly is the Queen that she thinks she is.
She is easily recognisable with trademark electric blue braids and her unapologetic feminism about female desire in her music, this has helped her work with some of the best producers and musicians in Mzansi and in the world.

The lively star recently Tweeted what the United Kingdom newspapers are saying about her, under their #OneToWatch segment.
"The South African star, a favourite of Beyoncé, blends the Durban sound of Gqom with horny global beats."
The "horny global beats" caught her fans by surprise and they even questioned what that actually means, Moonchild, however, understood exactly what meant. Her music has a lot of sexual innuendos and references to sex, on one of her new tracks "Where De Dee Kat" she can be heard whispering “penis penis penis” in her trademark sultry voice.
Moonchild is best-known for rapping in Gqom songs like "Midnight Starring" where she worked with DJ Tira and DJ Maphorisa, among others to produce one of Mzansi's earliest Gqom hits. She has a song with The Scorpion Kings as well, on the Amapiano album called "Ur Sheetee", which is also a Mzansi hit.

Her talents have attracted global superstars like Diplo, who shares a residency with Black Coffee in Las Vegas and Beyoncé. Queen Bey put Moonchild on her The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack, "My Power" last year and the song went on to appear in her globally anticipated short film Black Is King, together with other Mzansi celebrities like Trevor Stuurman, Nandi Madida, Connie Chiume, Busiswa, Nyaniso Dzedze and Warren Masemola.
If that wasn't enough to put some respect on her name, her and Sho Madjozi mingled with some of the biggest stars in the world after being announced as part of the lineup for Bud X Miami. They joined a lineup with fellow South African designer and artist, Karabo Poppy and the three of them joined, according to the official press release for the event, "200 influential creatives from over 20 countries in a curated jam-packed itinerary of imaginative activations including being a king of music, art, fashion and sports together with electrifying live performances and unforgettable collaborations."
It's time to put some respect on this Queen's name and with her forthcoming "Nüdes" EP, with her raunchy songs such as "Thunda Thighs" and Bashiri, she deserves all her flowers.
