On the previous season of Uthando Nes'thembu, Mseleku gathered his sons and said they should enter polygamy when they are older. The public praised Mpumelelo after he said that he was not interested in entering a polygamous marriage. However, he seems to have backtracked on his statement as he revealed to the publication that he hopes to have many wives like his father. According to him, his relationship with his partner is built on trust and openness.
"I’m not cheating but I am following in my father’s footsteps. My relationship with them is built on trust and transparency. There’s no secret about it. The baby mama lives in Cape Town and my other girlfriend lives in Durban," he told the publication.
He said he first needs to be financially fit for them before taking their relationship to the next level. “Unfortunately I can’t reveal their names but I’ve been dating them since 2019 and I introduced them to each other. There’s no fight between the two of them because I was honest with them from the beginning."
“I made them understand the bigger picture. I have good intentions for them but I need to be financially stable before I do the right thing,” said Mpumelelo.
Thobile's inability to conceive was the reason Mseleku wanted his sons to practice polygamy. Hence, he wanted his sons to grow the Mseleku family. Mpumelelo said he doesn't want the Mseleku clan to perish because he failed to extend it.

"I don’t want my family to perish merely because I failed to make kids. As a man it is my duty to ensure that the Mseleku clan does not perish,” Mpumelelo said.
“Currently there are three young men in our family, including myself. My father wants more than 50 grandchildren. This goal is impossible unless I take more than one wife,” he said.
In every episode, Uthando Nes'thembu has viewers glued to their television screens. Lately MaYeni has been accused of being cold towards the other wives.
Responding to claims of being rude, MaYeni said she just speaks her mind, nothing much. She told Daily Sun, "I have seen people's comments on social media platforms and the majority were not impressed with me. They feel I'm a bad person that I am mean and rude. “I just don't shy away from the truth and tell it like it is. Unfortunately people may be offended by this,” she said.
