Netflix has answered the prayers of many Queen Sono fans by announcing that a second season of the Netflix South African series is on its way.
Starring the likes of Pearl Thusi, Vuyo Dabula, and Abigail Kubeka, the show received impressive reviews from Mzansi and the international scene.
The only disappointment about Queen Sono is that it ends too quickly, with only six episodes viewers were left wanting more.
On Tuesday Netflix shared the good news that the thriller would be returning for a second season.
"Queen Sono is coming back for season 2," tweeted the South African Twitter account of the streaming platform.
In the second season, viewers will see Queen search for the truth as her newfound need for revenge takes her on a mission across Africa. All while she deals with her family's past and her complicated love life.
Returning Showrunner and Director Kagiso Lediga commented; “I am so excited by the appetite for African stories and that Netflix is continuing to partner with us to bring to life the next chapter of Queen’s story and showcase it to the world”
Lead actress Pearl Thusi had said that she would let her fans and followers know if there would be a second season of the hit show, however, the good sis had taken a social media break but returned to Twitter just to share a video of the announcement.
Most of the cast is expected to return for the highly anticipated second season of Queen Sono.
