“Getting in my worker’s attire and joining the protest. #NationalShutdown. See y’all in the streets,” said the wajelwa hitmaker.
“We can’t continue as if all is normal. All South Africans who are pained and annoyed by the state of our country should support the National Shutdown. People are dying in hospitals, and small businesses are closing down due to load-shedding. Crime is high; people get slaughtered in the streets with no justice. Inflation is increasing food prices, and people are losing their jobs. Roads are riddled with potholes, and some are forced to drink dirty water while others don’t even have water to drink,” complained the hitmaker.
How did they manage to keep the lights on today?

Tweeps have also joined forces in expressing their opinions on why the shutdown is a necessary occurrence.
If anything, the National Shutdown has proven that SAPS has the capabilities to monitor and “protect”, they just don’t feel like it on a business day. Imagine this equipment for child trafficking cases…imagine this kind of energy. https://t.co/1zsL0NtUXP

The #NationalShutdown exposed the following
The middle class in SA are enablers
Nothing is wrong with Eskom it’s just being sabotaged for privatisation
We have enough police officers to combat crime
State funds is only available to inflict fear on protesters & for ANC to loot
