This year has undoubtedly become the year of the return back to normalcy after a whole two years of the pandemic. Big events and festivals that allow mass gatherings are also making their highly anticipated returns promising the eventing, travel and alcohol industries a demand.

The Rocking the Daisies hysteria is one of the big festivals that are back like they never left. The festival and entertainment property announced its official return, following a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic earlier in April and the first half of the local line up has been announced, today, the festival organizers announce the first international act.

With public curiosity peaking in the ensuing days, on Monday 23 May #JWxRTD22 relieved fans of the anticipation with the announcement of the first phase of artists set to perform on the 2022 bill. Leading with a carousel of premium local titles, this year’s acts will include a list of the new age musical entertainers locally between the genres, Hip Hop, AmaPiano, Soul and more. This year’s first phase of Rocking The Daisies is made up of BLXCKIE, DBN GOGO, Will Linley, Sun El Musician, Focalistic, TxC, Sio, Matthew Mole, Aymos, Nasty C and Kid Fonque, among others.

Today the festival announces the first of its illustrious international fixtures – British multi-platinum selling, electronic pop group CLEAN BANDIT.

In a released media alert from the event organisers, the statement reads, “The multi-instrumental sensation have awed fans across the globe with their hypnotizing, orchestral-esque live showcases for years. Having released its culture-shifting debut project New Eyes (2014), later followed byWhat Is Love in 2018, the group has built their names on their incredibly rare and seamless ability to produce on universal anthems time and time again – with impressive collaborations alongside prominent artists in their own right such as Sean Paul, Ellie Goulding, Zara Larsson, Demi Lovato and more.”

Among the slew of impressive accolades accrued in their career, in 2014 Clean Bandit broke Spotify UK’s record for the most streamed song of all time for their infectious single ‘Rather Be.’ But they are likely most popularly known for the ubiquitous ‘Rockabye’ and ‘Symphony’ anthems, which are still among some of the highest streamed YouTube songs ever, with ‘Rockabye’ clocking in over 2.6 billion views.
Clean Bandit and many other local and international entertainers will bring whimsically spectacular showmanship to South African shores between 7 – 9 October 2022, in both Cape Town and Johannesburg.

Fans online have since been showing excitement for this weekend festival with many already booking their early passes to avoid disappointments towards the event as tickets in the past have sold out weeks ahead of the event.

This year’s Rocking The Daisies will be a two-city tour between Johannesburg and Cape Town over one weekend and the organizer have since urged event supporters and attendees to “Stay tuned to our social pages for more exciting updates.”
