Shudu took to her Instagram to announce the partnership. She said, "South Africans are best when they act in unison. We rise to the occasion when it is necessary. To those who can, and want to help – it is necessary to help now. Please pledge what you can"
Today Shudu is celebrating her birthday today and coincidentally she is sharing her birthday with Nelson Mandela and with this act of kindness, we can see why she would want to give back to the community in her own way.
Community forums will deliver food to Isiphingo Hills, Pietermaritzburg, Tongaat, Phoenix, Chatsworth and other areas that were mostly affected by the looting in South Africa.
Three months ago, Shudu revealed that she wants to be a female President and with her actions today, she is well on her way to being the first female President.
Shudufhadzo Musida has received a lot of criticism since taking over the reins. Despite the many appreciative supporters who thank her for being a sight for sore eyes, there is also a fair amount of haters who feel as though she has not been carrying her duties as a Miss SA.

She has been comparred to the longest serving Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi. Arguably, Zozibini's victory was seen as a step in the right direction. Shudufhadzo's win was proof of that as both ladies redefined what it meant to be a beauty queen in this day and age. However, Shudu's reign is being mocked as she frequently posts bikini pictures and selfies. For many, they feel her duties as Miss SA are not being fulfilled because she rarely speaks out about social ills, neither is she seen actively making change.
On Mandela Day, a lot of people have taken on what this day means for South Africans with the current economic climate especially for those cleaning malls for free when they are unemployed.
This is what tweeps had to say:
“I don't understand those people especially unemployed youth who are busy cleaning up the malls, I mean those malls are owned by billionaires they can afford to hire more people via their cleaning companies to clean up. I understand celebs are doing it for PR”
“Guilty Conscious is when KZN and Soweto residents use Madela day to clean up the mess they made on Jacob Zuma's day #67minutes”
“Until we realize there was no democracy in the first place we won't even start to fight for real one... this day hurt me the most that the world honours a man who sold us yet history books say he is the hero #NelsonMandelaDay #67minutes”
“Only white people who should celebrate #67minutes us black people we wouldn't be here today if Mandela was honest like Chris Hani...who wanted us as black people to have Land....our black people leaving in poverty, unemployed....I’m not celebrating Mandela day!!”
Are you celebrating 67 Minutes for Mandela Day?
