After facing some major backlash for his comments where he advised Hip Hop's OG's to take a break, Scoop Makhathini has decided to clear the air on what he meant.

The media personality ruffled some major feathers with his 'advice' to rappers to take a break from making music or releasing any project that is music related. He called out a few rappers including Cassper Nyovest, AKA and Kwesta and told them they should take a year off as they don't bring anything new in terms of storytelling or deliverance.
After conversing with AKA, he took to his "POPcast" podcast and clarified what he meant by those comments.
The rapper told Scoop that he was not going to take a back seat and let youngsters in rap take over. He then added that recording was his life.
"AKA called me and asked me what I meant and he said he is not going to give way for youngsters to come in and I said that's not what I am saying. I don't want you to move, it's not about the youngsters, this is about you, I want you to be the best you can be.
"I told him that I am not saying stop recording, but not everything you record should be put out because also it helps you just find new flows, find new word plays because you are exercising yourself all over again," he said.
