Shona posted a picture of them on set posing for the camera with actress Thuli Phongolo, Siyabonga, and former Isibaya actor Nhlanhla Mdlalose. Fans reacted to the picture and expressed how excited they are for the actors and said they cannot wait to see them in action.
Rockville has been hard at work hunting for new faces to spice things up on the show. Just recently it announced that actress Thuli Phongolo and Wiseman Zitha have joined the star-studded cast of the show which includes Shona Ferguson, Mbali Mlotshwa, Ayanda Thabethe, Connie Ferguson, and Brenda Ngxoli.
According to Phil Mphela's Entertainment Alert, Thuli will star as Buhle, a young woman from KZN who is looking for greener pastures in Johannesburg but she lands herself in hot water after meeting someone who introduces her to a money-making scheme. Siyabonga Shibe recently left Uzalo to seek greener pastures after he was accused of having diva tendencies. The actor took to Instagram a heartfelt post to thank the cast and crew of the SABC 1's hit soapie.
"What a great journey it has been with #uzalo_sabc1 I enjoyed every moment of this production. I would love to first thank the Crew, you guys work tirelessly and passionately, on set it is always fun and laugher every day and you put up with my good nonsense. I honestly respect you I have made friends with you guys and met brothers and sisters,"
'To the Cast ohh my God I don’t know where to begin, you guys are amazing. Working with you all has been a gem, a fantastic experience, and a learning experience. It has been my honor to share a screen and wear those shoes of every character we play together. We really make the script come to life we’ll work again," he wrote.
Mdlalose lost his job after Isibaya got canned and he thanked producers of the show for the life-changing opportunity of playing Bongani for 8 years.
"Bongani Ngcobo, has been a part of me for 8 years, I have become one with this amazing character, that initially was a total opposite of me when I dove in and became one with Bongani I didn’t know it would be this hard to separate myself from this amazing man ."
"Angus and Des, you made a dream come true for a young man, coming from the bundus, all I had was a dream, you made that possible. Many young men and women from where I come from believing now that anything is possible because you made that possible for me, you not only changed my life but the lives of people you probably won't" he wrote on social media.
