It seems SABC boss Hlaudi Motsoeneng has decided to replace Tbo Touch with the very finest in the entertainment industry.
Rumour has it Somizi Mhlongo and Khanyi Mbau will be the latest celebs to join Metro FM, replacing Touch. Apparently the station management isn’t too pleased with the decision, well, at least according to Sunday World. The publication reports that management were looking at hiring Anele Mdoda and DJ Fresh, but got sidelined by Motsoeneng.
“He just gave management an instruction to make two slots available for Somizi and Khanyi. They didn’t want to ask questions but, as staff, we could see they were not happy about the decision because they felt as though the two were being imposed on them,” an SABC employee told the publication.
But SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago is mum on whether indeed Motsoeneng did offer the duo the job. “When we introduced our talent, including the two people you are referring to, we indicated that we will announce where they will be placed. We are not going to be bullied into doing so by people who spread rumors. We do not appreciate the fact that outside forces are trying to dictate how we run our business. We will continue to run our business the best way we know how,” Kganyago said told the publication.
Well, if the rumour is true, we surely can’t wait to have Somgaga on our airwaves.
