Today Somizi shared that he laid his big sister to rest last Friday. Taking to Instagram, he revealed that his sister was a very private person and she wished for a private send-off.

"Last week Friday we bid farewell to my mom's first born....my sister... It was a peaceful dignified send-off," he added.

He also thanked service providers that made sure that his sister's send-off was beautiful. He wrote: "Now let me take this time to thank everyone who came through...the messages...friends, and relatives..."

Somizi encouraged his followers to normalize supporting black businesses.

"We need to destigmatize the notion that black businesses give bad services....bad service is bad service. Good service is good service. Regardless of race," he wrote.

Other celebrities including Dr. Rebecca Malope, Dawn Thandeka King, and Thabang Molaba took to the comments section to share their messages of condolences.
Another one of our favourate celebs who recently laid their loved ones to rest is actress and content creator Millicent Mashile. She shared a few days ago that she has lost her mother-in-law.

Taking to Instagram yesterday to give her fans a sneak peek inside her mother's farewell, the actress shared a picture of her sister-in-law who is also pregnant saying, "Me & my sister in law are pregnant at the same time. Our babies never got to meet their grandmother. God had different plans for us. Today we laid to rest our mother, our kids granma."

Millicent said the past couple of months have been difficult for her and her family, "I honestly don’t know how we did it. God has been our strength. Now we look forward to the babies arrival and celebrating the blessing even in this circumstance. God remains God and he is Good. You will be missed Mamzo."

Sharing the sad news last week, she said her mother-in-law went through so much pain but she held on through it all because she did not want them to hurt.

" Nothing could have prepared me for your loss... I saw & felt your motherly love. Thank you for welcoming me into your home 11years ago, you took me in as daughter in love, not in law. I always said you & the boys defined what love between a grandma & grandkids is."

She added that her kids were so obsessed with their grandmother and it was hard for her to break the news to them.
