The Wife Dragged For S2's Boring Storyline

The Wife viewers are not happy with the new season of the popular Showmax's telenovela. The new season premiered on the 17 of Feb and focuses on Zandile The Resolute, who tries to put her life together and resume her motherly duties after spending ten years in prison.
Taking the show to the top of the trending topics today, viewers have expressed their disappointment on the show calling it out for "a boring" storyline.

"If you haven't watched today's episodes of #TheWifeShowmax don't bother, the trailer didn't lie, there is nothing to watch🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️Wasted morning, wasted data, wasted logic trying to figure out all the obvious blunders in the storyline 😭😭 I think it's time to give up on this," @MalevuMandisa lashed out on Twitter.
Now that the show has taken a new turn, fans are not happy that they only get to see their favourate Mqhele and Hlomu once in a while. @PontshoMatlala0 tweeted, "I am actually hacked that I am not enjoying season 2 ya #thewifeshowmax Kept fast-forwarding the whole time and I don’t know why Hlumo is limited on the screens haowa maan."

Khanyi Mbau is the new lead this season playing the character of Zandile. She previously opened up about the challenges she faced when she started. She said it was a daunting experience for her. 

She added, "...especially to come into a family that is already established and but shout out to the directors the cast, and the crew for making it such an easy transition for me. It is like getting into a new school and the class does not know each other and I need to catch up to their frequency, it was not easy but you guys made it very easy.”

She revealed that out of all the characters that she has ever played, Zandile is the most complex one. "She challenges me. She is not an open book; I am still in the process of trying to find who she is. She's very cold and detached and disconnected from reality. She doesn't cry. She speaks with the same tone. She never lifts her voice. So she frustrates me and she is going to frustrate the viewers, to the extent of almost disowning her because she seems indecisive and manipulative. 
 
She added, "You can never pinpoint what she's going to wake up like the next day. I think even her husband struggles with that. But she has one thing about her that I like: she loves deeply, which is something that she has in common with her husband."
