Thuli is living the dream as she made more than she could have expected at a gig this past weekend. A video of a man throwing notes at her whilst she is playing at a groove has made rounds. The excited thespian can be seen gushing over the money and looked very excited.
She made many people wish to switch careers ASAP because WOW, we could all use with some extra cash.
Here is a list of all the places she was gigging at this past weekend:
Thuli came into the spotlight as an actress when her first gig at Generations tossed her into the spotlight. Thuli was rumoured to have been fired from Generations but she clarified those rumours. After exiting Generations, Thuli decided to give her dream of being a DJ a shot.
Speaking to Trending SA a few years back, Thuli said, “DJ Zoe, kind of got me into deejaying, I met her for lunch and she was kind of like: ‘if you really love music, you should do it’, she introduced me to a guy called Ryno and I literally had twelve lessons before my first gig and right after that, I was getting gigs before my second lesson and I was like:
‘Ryno, no I can’t do it.’ because, people were booking me because:’ You’re Namhla on Generations...and from then onwards I’ve been working as a DJ, I’ve only been free five weekends last year, and it was my first year...it chose me, I really do believe that it chose me…”
Opening more about her love for music, Thuli spoke to TrueLove and revealed more, "I’ve always had love for music but unfortunately I can’t sing. More and more my love for it continued to grow when I attended events or was MC-ing somewhere. I’d see other DJs playing at those events and wanted the same thing. I met up with DJ Zoe (who plays with Ganyani) for lunch and spoke to her about being a DJ; she was very encouraging. She recommended DJ Ryno to teach me and they’ve both been my mentors. At first I thought I’d learn here and there but after playing at one of DJ Zoe’s events I’ve started getting bookings.
She has been DJing more than actually being on our screens and she seems to be loving this whole career more. Who wouldn't with this much money she is making.
