Fall Down Seven Times, Get Up Eight
Time and time again, we have witnessed some of our favorite celebrities being kicked out or falling out of the industry either for not being relevant anymore, or simply because they need to rethink their brand.
And while many of them have fallen out completely from the limelight, we are happy to see that others have found their way back bigger and better. Below is a list of Zalebs who have rebranded and made an outstanding comeback.

Vusi Nova

Other than always making headlines because of his music and friendship with Somizi Mhlongo, Vusi has time and time again gone on a rebranding spree. His most recent one seems to have gained the attention of many, mostly because he not only changed his entire look, but also decided to shift genres.
The Award winning Afro-pop sensation also changed his stage name and he now goes by S’Nova. The artist shared this big news on his social media which was received with quite a lot of mixed reactions, as many were not sure whether he would last or not.
Still, we have to say that we love his new look and we can only wish him the very best going forward.

Mpura

Yet another celebrity that made a rebrand is the late Mpura, who unfortunately passed on alongside Killer Kau in a tragic road accident. Mpura, whose true name is Mongezi Stuurman, has always been a fashion star, but many people were unaware that Mongezi rebranded to join the Amapiano fraternity and did a fantastic job at it.
He really was a jack of all trades. From running his very own clothing line, Mpura Designs, to being a great photographer, there is no denying that Mpura truly was at the top of his game. He will forever be missed for his great works and creative mind.
Keep resting in peace King.

Norma Mngoma

It was not that long ago when the business woman took to her social media to announce that she would be using her maiden name. She will no longer be referred to as Norma Gigaba but as Norma Mngoma.

Her declaration  came barely days after the Sunday World reported that Malusi Gigaba, the former Minister of Home Affairs, had left his wife and the couple had separated, with plans to divorce. Their fallout had been quite messy, but Norma made sure that she would not stay down any minute longer. You’ve got this girl!

Zolani Mahola

It was not that long ago when the Freshly Ground singer decided to exit the music group and embark on a solo project that would see her follow her own heart and tune. Many were not sure what this would mean for the band or for Zolani herself but things turned out pretty well for her.

The award winning artist later on decided to rebrand and come back with a new stage name, The One Who Sings. Speaking about why she decided to rebrand, Mahola said,

There is a strange thing with being a celebrated person or someone who is in the public eye like I have been for about twenty years now. That thing is that people think there is a separation between myself and them.
What my embracing of the name The One Who Sings does for me is that it closes that gap… it makes me as familiar as the baker or the spaza shop owner or the dressmaker or the one who sings.

Lasizwe Dambuza

The YouTube sensation has always left our timelines on fire for his controversies and of course for his unbothered attitude.

Not long ago, many argued as to whether or not Lasizwe was losing relevance in the entertainment industry, especially after he started calling himself Aunty Pancakes as a means to emulate the female deejay, Uncle Waffles.

An article by Times Live however, reported that the reality TV star was rebranding after 5 years of being in the entertainment industry. And while we are yet to see what exactly this rebranding means for Sweerie, we can only imagine that it will be something unforgettable.

Aaron Moloisi

The actor and media personality has always been a favorite for many here at Mzansi. After having been on TV for quite some time, it came as a pleasant surprise when he recently announced that he would be launching his very own radio station.

Legend Radio, the business man said, will be created to commemorate his 20 years in the entertainment industry.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Aaron said,

I’m excited to charter new and untapped territory. It’s a new learning curve. I’ve always loved television and when I was approached last year to join a radio station, I realized it’s just as exciting and even more powerful than TV.

The beautiful thing about life is that each day we get a chance to become better individuals and it is good to see that our Zalebs understand that same concept as well. Fall down seven times, be sure to get up eight!
