As industry peers prepare for Akhumzi’s memorial service tomorrow (3 May) South Africa continues to mourn the loss of one of its youngest and greatest talent.
This week will be marked as one of the saddest moments in South African entertainment, and the moment when Musa Mthombeni shared his tribute to his best friend, shows how much Akhumzi will be sorely missed.
Whilst friends and peers continue to share their memories of Akhumzi, one memory that stands out the most to us is a tweet Lootlove shared just a day after the news of Akhumzi’s passing.
In early April, Lootlove had tweeted that people should pay attention to their dreams…
…to which Akhumzi responded with a question about what his dream meant.
Although his question was hilarious because of him questioning if he practices witchcraft, the response to his tweet by another Twitter user really got us a bit shook.
We guess its safe to say that Akhumzi is now definitely in the company of the greats who came before us.
Also, check out this moving tribute The Soil performed for Akhumzi this past weekend.
Rest in peace Akhumzi.
