Muzi Is Back With His Third Album 'Zeno'!

Sep 20, 2019, 04:01 PM

After the local and international success of Afrovision (2018), ‘ZENO’ becomes MUZI’s third album offering to his global audience of loyal fans.

Having filled venues all over the world including Switzerland, France, Germany, USA, and the UK, the producer / DJ returns home to South Africa ahead of the worldwide release of his album on October 11, 2019. An !K7 / WE.THE.BUNDU release, ‘ZENO’ presents itself as a new, defining level in the artist’s unmistakable brand of modern African music.

ZENO’ was written, recorded and produced mostly in South Africa with MUZI creating the album’s finishing touches while on tour in the States. The album’s sonics reveal the direct influence of his Kwa-Zulu Natal upbringing. The proudly Zulu artist hails from a township in Empangeni, North of Durban; the place where MUZI first conceived of his place in music. Having soaked up the sounds of the time, he now expertly blends together cutting edge urban and electronic music with local genres like Maskandi, Kwaito, Iscathamiya and South African Bubblegum Pop of the 80s and 90s.

This album continues to be a demonstration of MUZI’s ahead-of-the-game musical output. Listeners will again experience him in all his glory as a songwriter, composer, vocalist and producer accompanied by select features from a few of South Africa’s exciting new talents.

Leading the next generation of musicians in the streaming era, MUZI is a regular fixture on many of the world’s most recognized playlists on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. Receiving love at home and abroad, recent single We Are Growing has made its way into Apple Music’s Best of the Week, Deezer’s Unwrapped SA and Spotify’s New Music Friday in France and South Africa. More recently, EP title track, Stimela Segolide has been added to over 1500 algorithmic, editorial and listener playlists on Spotify since its May 2019 release. The Stimela Segolide official video also enjoyed a street premier at Jägermeister’s annual ‘Enter the Woods’ event and a terrestrial television premier on MTV Base (DSTv 320).

Proudly supported by major global brands including Nando’s, Vans and Jägermeister, and having produced ad syncs for Apple and Ralph Lauren, amongst others – MUZI transcends his ‘emerging artist’ status and continues to constantly set himself apart with a music catalogue like no other.
