Nakhane Toure is not only a South African musician but also a fashion icon. The singer is now based in the UK and seems to be taking his career to new heights.
We decided to look at 5 moments that prove that Nakhane Toure is killing it.
1. The singer recently took to social media to announce that he got the opportunity to meet one of his icons, English vocalist and singer-songwriter David McAlmont:
“Today I met a hero and an icon: David McAlmont. We went to see the Edvard Munch exhibition at the British Museum. I told him that without him, an artist like me doesn’t exist. He asked me how, and I told him that he paved the way for artists like me. I thanked him. And then we laughed and laughed.”
2. Nakhane was featured in Notion Magazine a newsstand music and fashion magazine published quarterly in the United Kingdom which was founded in 2004. We can’t wait to get our hands on a copy.
3. He released the music video of his song Clairvoyant which explores the beauty and intimacy of a relationship. The star shared the concept behind the video shot in Hillbrow in a post:
“We wanted the characters to be in love and to be leading average lives. Taking baths together, arguing, having sex, drinking. All the banal things you do over the weekend with your partner.”
4. Nakhane Toure has been nominated for two South African Music Awards. The first one is for Best Alternative Album for his sophomore album, “You Will Not Die”, and the second one is for Male Artist of The Year.
5. At the beginning of the year, Nakhane was named as one of New York Time’s top ten musicians to watch in 2019.
